Our faculty

As the pace of life is getting faster, our faculty has to face new challenges such as the robotization of agriculture, research on food security, ethical ways of breeding animals or breeding new species better adapted to climate and developmental changes, finding alternative ways in crop protection and effective conservation of our natural resources. We are already internationally successful in several research and development areas.

THE RIGHT STUDY PROGRAMME FOR YOU

The study programmes focus on areas which are important for health and quality of life. They include not only traditional fields such as agriculture, but also attractive and growing sectors related to food security and human nutrition, natural resources and waste management, breeding of companion and exotic animals, animal therapy and landscape planning. The faculty also offers unique joint degree and double degree master programmes with the universities in Austria and Italy. A special attention is paid to practical aspects of learning as well as to connection between education and research, which enables our students to become valued members of national and international research projects during their master or doctoral studies.

RESEARCH AT THE FACULTY

Our faculty possesses well equipped educational facilities including modern laboratories, experimental sites with demonstration fields, greenhouse facilities, a dendrology park, an experimental and demonstration centre for domestic animals, and a canine research centre.

All these facilities are located in a beautifully landscaped green university campus in the northern part of Prague within an easy reach of the historic city centre and the airport. Our students can be accommodated at the university dormitories in the campus where they can also find various student canteens and restaurants. The campus further includes a university library and sport facilities such as a swimming pool, tennis courts, a football field, a gym and fitness.
